Laminate Care & Maintainance
Laminate is low maintenance and very easy to keep looking great. Simply vacuum or brush your floor (with a soft bristle brush) before using the manufacturer’s recommended cleaning product. Vacuuming is particularly important on laminates with bevelled edging to avoid a build up of trapped dirt. Here are some more tips for keeping your floor looking great.
- Never wet mop your laminate floor. Clean up spills immediately – especially wet spills. It is recommended to remove any standing water as soon as possible.
- The surface of a laminate floor is made of melamine. Melamine is scratch-resistant but not scratch-proof. Sharp objects can scratch the floor. For this reason, you should take the necessary precautions. Do not use a vacuum with a beater bar, put a doormat at your entrances to trap dirt / grit and use protective felt pads on furniture legs to avoid scratching the laminate.
